Several lightning strikes on the Millau viaduct
On the night of Friday July 7 to Saturday July 8, the Millau Viaduct was hit by two simultaneous lightning strikes on two different piers.
Our data collection systems recorded three impacts that night, with intensities ranging from 11kA to 66kA!
Each of the 7 piers of this imposing colossus, the highest of which rises to 343m, is protected by an ESE air terminal IONIFLASH MACH NG TF.
