France Paratonnerres and the Palais de Tokyo: A real “love-struck” story

Built for the Universal Exhibition of 1937, the Contemporary-art Temple trusted France Paratonnerres with its security, by granting them the lightning protection of the site.
This famous building is located along the Seine banks close to the Eiffel Tower.

A IONIFLASH MACH NG60® air terminal with test was recommended by France Paratonnerres.
This stainless steel 316L Early Streamer Emission air terminal functions on all lightning strikes, both positives and negatives. Only air terminal in the world with a GHG emission certification, 100% French manufactured, and internationally patented, the absence of fragile component ensure a life duration longer than 25 years.
The ESE IONIFLASH MACH NG60 allows a higher security, based on its electrical continuity (which flows the lightning current directly to the ground), and on its two spark gaps which ensure its functioning under extreme weather conditions.
Looking for a reliable solution, and without planned obsolescence, the Palais de Tokyo Technical Management chose the IONIFLASH MACH® technology.

The site monitoring is ensured by a smart lightning strikes counter, the I FLASH REPORT®, which record and memorize up to 100 lightning events, for 20 years.
In case of access difficulty, the information retrieval is ensured thanks to a Bluetooth range of 25 m.

The indirect lighting effects which may damage the networks and services are counteracted by the use of several T1 and T2 surge protective devices, on the entire building.

Two candidates for the 2017 French presidential election chose the Palais de Tokyo to seal and formalize their political alliance.
What a wise choice to protect themselves against their opponents’ wrath…
